This is by far my favorite way to prepare asparagus. They are just perfect every time and anyone I've ever served them to are surprised at how such a simple preparation is so delicious.

Ingredients
1 bunch asparagus spears, bottoms snapped off
3 T olive oil
salt & pepper
Instructions
Preheat oven's broiler on high and place rack about 6 inches from the heat source
Put asparagus onto a cookie sheet
Drizzle with olive oil, salt & pepper and toss
Broil for 5 minutes and check; remove when tender but still crisp
