Fresh staples are food items you’ll want to make sure to always have in your fridge or freezer. Why? Two reasons: One is that you’ll need these items for most recipes. Second is that if you don’t have a meal planned and need to pull something together, you can always do so if you have these things around. The goal is less trips to the supermarket!
- butter
- sour cream
- heavy or light cream
- lemons
- carrots
- celery
- onions
- parsley (and any other fresh herbs you love to use…for me it’s cilantro and basil)
- favorite family veggies: zucchini, broccoli, green beans, eggplant, butternut squash, etc.
- nuts (Keep the following in your freezer to prevent spoiling: walnuts, pecans, sliced almonds and pine nuts…I buy the big bags at Costco)
