- 1 ham steak, diced (or ¼ lb pancetta or salt pork)
- 5-6 cloves minced garlic
- 1 medium onion, diced
- ¼ t dried rosemary (or 1 t fresh rosemary, minced)
- 2 cans cannellini beans
- 1 28 oz crushed tomatoes
- 5 cups water
- salt, pepper, red pepper flakes to taste
- ¾ lb ditalini pasta
- Sauté ham, garlic and onions in a pot until onions are translucent
- Add beans, tomatoes, water and spices
- Simmer for 20-30 minutes
- Cook pasta separately until al dente
- Combine before serving
- Top each bowl with parmiggiano and good olive oil if you have it
